Erasmus Epidemiology Resources aims to provide the technical resources and expertise within the field of epidemiology and population sciences that could contribute to a better understanding of prevention of age-related disorders and improved longevity in general populations.
Our vision is to improve population’s health by providing excellent resources based on rigorous scientific research in the fields of epidemiology. We focus on psychiatric epidemiology, neuro-epidemiology, cardiovascular epidemiology and epidemiology of ageing and age related disorders.
Our resources include expert advice on epidemiological research issues, including study design and analyses of large populations, and the development and design of tools to determine health and longevity. We do not believe in standard epidemiological answers. Instead we emphasize open-mindedness towards projects and resources.
Our work strongly embodies Erasmus MC’s vision of being a leader in innovations for health and healthcare. Not only are our resources based on the unparalleled strength of data from two large innovative prospective cohort studies – The Rotterdam Study and Generation R – but by translating these data to clinical applications and by transferring knowledge from epidemiological studies, we provide practical solutions in everyday clinical practice.
It is due to our firm epidemiological basis that Erasmus Epidemiological Resources is strongly affiliated with the Department of Epidemiology of Erasmus MC.
